Apple App Store Spam

Today we have seen a huge influx of Apple App Store-related spam (see image below) being reported by our SPAMfighter community. Don’t worry, Apple is not spamming you, the messages are fake.

We’ve seen various subject titles to help you spot this one (just in case you’re not using SPAMfighter – though, hey, why wouldn’t you?), so far we’ve seen:

  1. Apple AppStore Order Notify
  2. Apple Store Order Cancellation
  3. Apple Store Order Notification
  4. Apple AppStore Order Cancellation

The order status link goes to fake advertising sites, for viagra and such, and may also expose users to malware downloads.

As ever, our advice is to be very careful in clicking on links in emails, and to choose a strong anti-spam solution to protect your email.

Have you been conned by convincing fake emails? Please let us know in the comments section.
