Chrome and Windows 7 Security Broken, Again

In what seems to be both a never-ending barrage of bad news for Google and Microsoft on the security front, French security firm Vupen has official “Pawnd” Google Chrome and its sandbox running on all Windows platforms.

As reported on Info Security, the exploit is one of the most sophisticated yet seen, that bypasses not only all of the Google Chrome security, but all of the anit-exploit features built into Windows 7 as well.

Luckily, Vupen is a security company, and so won’t be revealing how this is done, and is, presumably, working with both Google and Microsoft to help solve the issues. But such research just goes to show that, having a technology or innovation built-in does not necessarily make you safe.
